Service and advice are very important to us! We want our clients to make the right choice. In our webshop, you'll find a detailed list of the pumps we offer, with brands, models, and prices. In the real store, you can try them all out and we'll advise you on which pump complies with your needs. Highly recommended!
Manual pumps
They're small, light and cheap. Very appropriate for limited use. They do the job, but can be quite time consuming (and you'll feel your arm muscles!). To pump one breast at a time.
Options: Lansinoh manual pump - Ardo Amaryllis - Medela harmony
Electric pumps
This is modern pumping! They're more expensive but very efficient and comfortable. If you need or want to pump regularly (more than once a week), choose an electric pump.
There are several types, depending on whether you wanna express one breast at a time or both simultaneously. You'll also have to choose the pumping mechanism: one-phase (one rythm the whole time) or two-phase (starts slowly and then goes faster, like your baby)). The more (you think) you're gonna pump, the more advanced the model should be.
Electric pumps are designed to pump during hundreds of hours and they will be useful during the whole breastfeeding period, and for all your babies! They're definitely a good investment...
The options: Medela Swing - Medela Freestyle - Ardo Calypso - Ardo Calypso-to-go
2-phase pumps
What the heck? - It's very simple …
When your baby starts to drink, he'll stimulate your breast to initiate a faster milk flow (letdown). He does this by suckling rapidly. When the milk flow is fast and strong enough, he changes the way he drinks: slower and deeper. The 2-phase technology, which is unique in Medela pumps, imitates this natural pattern. The pumps starts at a high frequence with low pressure. When the milk starts to flow, you just have to press the button and the pump will change to a lower frequence and higher pressure.
What are the advantages?
- It's easier to initiate the letdown..
- More milk in less time.
- More natural sensation.
That's how we like it. As far as we're concerned, this is the standard!
